BREAKING: Former Mayor of Topton, PA, Lawrence D. “Larry” Werst, has passed away at the age of 84. He died peacefully on January 3, 2026, in Allentown, PA, leaving a legacy of dedication to his community.

The funeral service is set for January 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., taking place at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, located at 121 S. Home Avenue, Topton, PA. Following the service, interment with military honors will occur at Topton Union Cemetery. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

In a unique tribute to Larry’s passion for baseball, attendees are encouraged to wear red and white or any sports attire in honor of his love for the Boston Red Sox.
