Jadan Baugh Signs New $1.3 Million Deal with Florida Gators
UPDATE: Florida Gators star tailback Jadan Baugh has just signed a new contract worth $1.3 million, securing his future with the team amid fierce competition from the Texas Longhorns. This critical development comes as the Gators gear up for the upcoming season, following Baugh’s remarkable performance in the 2025 season where he rushed for an impressive 1,170 yards, marking the highest total for the Gators since Mike Gillislee in 2012.
The urgency surrounding Baugh’s re-signing was underscored by his standout performance against Florida State, where he rushed for a staggering 266 yards. His ability to dominate on the field has made him a vital asset for new head coach Jon Sumrall, who prioritized retaining Baugh shortly after his hiring on November 30.
In the face of a competitive offer from Texas, Baugh chose to remain with the Gators, accepting $200,000 less than Texas’s offer of $1.5 million. His decision reflects loyalty to the program and a commitment to continue building on his impressive collegiate career. Over the past two seasons, Baugh has accumulated 2,086 yards from scrimmage, including 1,843 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns.
Baugh’s versatility makes him a key figure in new offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner’s strategy. The 6-foot-3, 231-pound tailback excels in multiple facets of the game, including rushing and catching passes, having recorded 33 receptions for 210 yards and two touchdowns last season.
Alongside Baugh, the Gators have secured new contracts for leading tackler Myles Graham, top receiver Vernell Brown III, and promising wideout Dallas Wilson. However, edge rusher Jayden Woods is still weighing his options, indicating ongoing developments as the team prepares for the next season.
Additionally, the Gators have recently signed Evan Pryor, a tailback from Cincinnati who rushed for 522 yards last season, further strengthening their backfield. As the Gators navigate the offseason, the focus will remain on enhancing their roster while maintaining key players like Baugh.
With Baugh’s commitment, the Gators are poised to make a significant impact in the 2026 season. Fans eagerly await further updates as the team finalizes its roster and strategies for the upcoming year. Stay tuned for the latest developments from Gainesville as the Gators aim for a successful season ahead.
