James Harden Declares Clippers Can Surge Back to Playoffs!
UPDATE: In a stunning turnaround, James Harden and the LA Clippers are surging back into playoff contention after a dismal start. The Clippers secured their fourth consecutive victory, defeating the Washington Wizards 119-105 at the Intuit Dome on Wednesday night, marking their 11th win in 13 games. Harden boldly stated to ESPN, “We can come all the way back.”
This remarkable resurgence comes just weeks after the Clippers sat at the bottom of the Western Conference with a disheartening 6-21 record. Harden’s confidence is infectious, as he emphasizes the importance of incremental improvements: “We have to chip away, chip away and really build some momentum going into the All-Star break.”
As of now, the Clippers trail the Memphis Grizzlies by a mere half-game for the critical 10th place, the final spot in the play-in tournament. With the All-Star Weekend approaching from February 13-15 at the Intuit Dome, both Harden and teammate Kawhi Leonard are strong candidates for selection, given their recent performances.
Leonard is on fire, averaging 32.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 2.6 steals during this impressive 11-2 run. Harden himself is not far behind, contributing 24.8 points and 7.8 assists per game. “Once I see him flip the switch, it was like, ‘OK, yeah, it’s time to go,'” Harden remarked about Leonard, highlighting their chemistry on the court.
Harden also etched his name in history, passing Shaquille O’Neal for ninth on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. Reflecting on this milestone, he stated, “That was a surreal moment just because as a kid growing up watching Kobe [Bryant] and Shaq, it’s unreal for real.”
The Clippers’ trajectory has shifted dramatically, and fans are buzzing with optimism. Harden, expressing his love for playing in Los Angeles, said, “Being at home, that’s like the opportunity of a lifetime for me. Just be able to hoop in front of my family, friends… It’s a different feeling.” His commitment to the team remains strong despite the early-season struggles.
As the Clippers aim to continue their winning streak and push for a playoff spot, all eyes will be on their next game. Will they capitalize on this momentum? Fans and analysts alike are eager to see if Harden’s optimism translates into a solid playoff run.
Stay tuned for more updates as the Clippers strive to complete their remarkable comeback!
