Lee Junho Reveals Painful Truths of “Beast Idol” Life in Urgent Interview
UPDATE: In a shocking revelation just announced on October 17, 2023, Lee Junho of 2PM shared the painful consequences of being a “beast idol” during a YouTube interview with Lee Yong Jin. As he prepares for his leading role in Netflix’s upcoming series Cashero, Junho opened up about the toll on his body from years of high-energy performances.
Reflecting on their past, Junho recalled the intense acrobatics and stunts that defined their debut years. “We did all sorts of things. We stacked members and flew around,” he said, reminiscing about an iconic moment from the 2009 SBS Gayo Daejeon. However, the nostalgia quickly turned to pain as he revealed the physical consequences of those performances.
When asked about his current health, Junho candidly admitted, “My knees hurt a lot.” He detailed a history of serious injuries, including multiple surgeries—”They made eight holes in my shoulder during the operation,” he revealed, adding, “I got injured so much that when I went to the hospital, they told me my physical age was 60.” The emotional weight of his words resonated as he described performing with a back brace after suffering a broken spine four times.
The conversation took a light-hearted turn as Lee Yong Jin responded with disbelief, “That would cause an uproar today.” Yet, the gravity of Junho’s experiences lingered, especially as he chuckled about the cold weather affecting his joints, “It’s cold outside now. My joints were creaking too.”
This candid discussion highlights the often-overlooked sacrifices made by idols in the K-pop industry. As fans rally around their favorite stars, Junho’s revelations underline the need for greater awareness of the pressures and physical demands placed on performers.
As 2PM continues to thrive, the impact of Junho’s experiences sheds light on the complexities of fame in the entertainment world. Fans and industry insiders alike are sure to keep a close eye on how this story evolves and what it means for the future of K-pop idols.
