BREAKING: A Mississippi man is now behind bars following a dramatic police chase in Scottsboro, Alabama, earlier today. 50-year-old Michael Lee White faces multiple felony charges including Felony Attempt to Elude Arrest, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, Resisting Arrest, and Theft of Property 4th Degree.

According to authorities, the incident began around 9:00 AM when Scottsboro police received a report of theft near the 24000 Block of Hwy. 72. Officers quickly located White driving a silver GMC truck towing a 44-foot trailer. When police attempted to pull him over, he allegedly drove recklessly, striking a drive-thru stand, destroying a flower bed, and damaging a business sign before fleeing the scene.

The pursuit escalated as officers trailed White for approximately 25 miles through several cities, joined by multiple law enforcement agencies. The situation intensified when White’s vehicle began smoking, prompting him to pull over. However, he did not surrender; instead, he fled on foot into a nearby wooded area.

Authorities quickly apprehended White, recovering several stolen items from his vehicle. Thankfully, no officers or civilians were injured during this chaotic event.

This incident underscores the ongoing issues of theft and reckless driving in the area, sparking concern among local residents. As investigations continue, authorities are urging citizens to report any suspicious activities promptly.
