URGENT UPDATE: Six individuals have been hospitalized following a serious car crash in the Mission District of San Francisco on Friday afternoon. Two pedestrians are currently in critical condition, suffering from life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of 22nd Street and South Van Ness Avenue.

According to fire department officials, the two pedestrians were rushed to San Francisco General Hospital. Four others sustained minor injuries when the same vehicle collided with an oncoming car, bringing the total number of injured to six. Assistant Chief Bill Storti confirmed that all were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

Amerie Wheeler, a nearby resident, reported hearing screeching brakes followed by a loud crash. “I heard someone screaming for help,” she recounted. Upon stepping outside, she saw two individuals lying on the street, one conscious and asking about the other, who was unresponsive.

Emergency responders worked quickly, with one individual from the vehicle that struck the pedestrians being fitted with a neck brace. As the investigation continues, the condition of the two pedestrians remains critical, although Storti expressed hope that they would survive the incident.
