URGENT UPDATE: Boxing champion Terence Crawford has been ticketed for running a red light during a traffic stop in Omaha, Nebraska, just hours before attending the state wrestling championships. The incident occurred at 2:27 PM on Saturday as Crawford was en route to watch his son compete at the CHI Health Center.

Omaha Police confirmed that Crawford, age 38, was driving a 2026 Mercedes-Benz SUV when he was stopped for violating a traffic control signal. According to the police report, an officer observed Crawford’s vehicle speeding through a red light at the intersection of 14th and Capitol, estimating his speed at over 50 mph. The officer noted that Crawford did not brake as he approached the red light and only stopped after clearing the intersection.

Crawford attempted to clarify which red light he allegedly ran, but the officer informed him that he had passed through two. The boxer was on his way to the wrestling championships, where the NSAA parade of champions began at 3 PM, with Crawford’s son competing first.

This latest incident adds to Crawford’s legal troubles, as he is currently awaiting trial for a previous careless driving ticket issued last fall. In that case, he was pulled over shortly after a parade held in his honor, which led to a highly publicized confrontation with police. During that stop, Crawford’s bodyguard informed officers that they had legal firearms in the vehicle, but officers claimed they were not informed, resulting in a tense situation where passengers were ordered out at gunpoint. Subsequently, three passengers filed a federal lawsuit against the City of Omaha, alleging excessive force and discrimination, although Crawford did not join the suit.

As this situation develops, all eyes are on Crawford as he prepares for his upcoming trial in April. The boxing community and fans are anxious to see how these legal issues will affect his career and personal life.
