Unbeaten Wrestlers Shine at Rumble on the Red; Willmar in 6th

BREAKING: The Rumble on the Red is heating up as four wrestlers remain unbeaten after Day 1 of the tournament at the Fargodome in Fargo, North Dakota. Willmar’s own Caiden Kassel and Cavin Carlson, alongside Gavin Mortenson and Kameron Sather from Dawson-Boyd/Lac qui Parle Valley/Montevideo, are in championship contention!

As of Friday, Willmar sits in 6th place out of 64 teams with 67.5 points, while Dawson-Boyd/Lac qui Parle Valley/Montevideo ranks 10th with 60.5 points. The top spot is held by Simley, who leads with 109 points.

Kassel is dominating the 127-pound bracket with a perfect 3-0 record, including a stunning fall over New Prague’s Elijah Lofton in just 2 minutes, 41 seconds. He is set to face Brody Gossen of Marion, South Dakota, in the semifinals.

Carlson has also shown impressive skills, going 3-0 at 160 pounds, with a quick fall against Minot’s Gavin Tanberg in 1 minute, 28 seconds. He will compete against Holden Hawkins of Sisseton, South Dakota, next.

Meanwhile, Mortenson has a flawless 3-0 record at 133 pounds after a nail-biting 2-1 decision over Holdingford’s Wyatt Pilarski. He will face Gabriel Morin from Bemidji in the semifinals. Sather joins the unbeaten ranks with three first-period falls, looking to maintain his momentum against Masyn Patrick from Holdingford.

The excitement continues as the Rumble on the Red concludes on Saturday. Fans are eager to see if Willmar can climb the rankings and bring home more victories!

In other competitions, New London-Spicer is tied for 10th at the Rogers Holiday Matness with 60.5 points, while BOLD’s Noah Jensen captured the 114 championship at the BBE Invitational.
