Urgent: Bus Carrying 50 Students Rolls Over in Missouri

UPDATE: A serious accident occurred earlier today when a tour bus carrying approximately 50 high school students rolled over in Laclede County, Missouri, on its way to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis. The incident unfolded around 10:00 AM local time on Highway A, near Phillipsburg, about 40 miles outside of Springfield.

The bus, transporting students from Bolivar, Fair Play, and Dadeville schools, lost control while navigating a curvy road in heavy rain, according to Corporal Ralicia Tyler of the Missouri Highway Patrol. The vehicle then slid off the road and ended up on its side.

Emergency responders transported 10 students to local hospitals for minor injuries, as confirmed by a spokesperson from the Missouri Highway Patrol. Fortunately, no serious injuries have been reported among the other passengers. The remaining students were taken to nearby Conway High School for shelter and to reunite with their families.

Both the Bolivar Schools and Fair Play School District are actively coordinating the return of students from Conway, ensuring that they are safely brought back home. The National FFA Convention began today, and the students were excited to participate in this significant event.
