Urgent Manhunt: Serial Slasher Strikes in Brooklyn, 3 Attacks
UPDATE: A serial slasher is on the loose after carrying out three random attacks across Brooklyn in less than 24 hours, police confirmed. The man, who struck on the subway and streets, is still being sought by authorities following the alarming incidents.
The first attack occurred on October 14, 2023, around 6:30 a.m., when the suspect slashed a 37-year-old man on the left side of his face aboard a Manhattan-bound Q train at the Church Ave. subway stop in Flatbush. The victim managed to exit the train and report the incident to the police, who are now urgently searching for the attacker.
In a shocking escalation, the slasher struck again later that same day. At approximately 9:40 p.m., he targeted a 53-year-old man near Foster and New York Avenues, just a mile and a half away from the initial attack. The spree continued early the next morning, when at 6:55 a.m. on October 15, he slashed a 56-year-old man near Newkirk Ave. and New York Avenues, police sources reported.
All three victims were transported to Kings County Hospital and are currently in stable condition. The NYPD has since deployed officers across Flatbush in a widespread search for the assailant, described as wearing a navy blue jacket, black shorts, and white sneakers.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the serial slasher to contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential, as the fear surrounding these unprovoked attacks grips the community.
The recent spate of violence comes just days after another disturbing subway incident in Manhattan, where a 30-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stabbing a victim during a heated argument on a D train. Police are on high alert as they seek to prevent further attacks and ensure public safety.
