URGENT UPDATE: A significant weather shift is underway in Ohio as a weak cold front swept through earlier today, bringing cooler temperatures across Columbus, Cincinnati, and Wilmington. According to the National Weather Service, residents can expect temperatures to drop this morning, stabilizing in the lower 30s in the north and upper 30s in the south.

With mostly clear skies tonight, lows are projected to plummet into the low to mid 20s, with some areas possibly dipping into the teens. “The best chance for this will be across our east, closer to the surface high,” reported the National Weather Service.

Looking ahead, a warming trend is on the horizon. Beginning Monday, a return of southerly winds will set the stage for a significant temperature rise, with Thursday expected to hit highs in the lower 60s—just shy of record highs for December 25.

The week’s weather is expected to remain active, with occasional precipitation chances from Monday night into Tuesday morning, and similar patterns on Thursday and Friday. While no significant or hazardous weather is anticipated, residents and travelers should stay alert as conditions can change rapidly.

As the holiday season approaches, this weather shift could impact travel plans. Families should remain vigilant and prepared for the initial cold snap before the anticipated warm-up arrives. Keep an eye on the forecasts and dress accordingly as Ohio experiences this dramatic atmospheric change.
