USF Selects Moez Limayem as Next President in Unanimous Vote
UPDATE: The University of South Florida (USF) has officially selected Moez Limayem as its next president, following a unanimous vote by the Board of Trustees on Tuesday. This decision marks a significant moment for the university and is poised to impact the Tampa Bay community immediately.
Limayem expressed his gratitude, stating, “I am honored and humbled to be unanimously selected by the USF Board of Trustees. Serving as USF president would be the greatest honor of my professional life.” He emphasized his family’s deep connection to USF and the excitement of returning to the region he loves.
Currently the president of the University of North Florida, Limayem previously served as the Lynn Pippenger Dean of the Muma College of Business at USF for a decade. His extensive experience and commitment to student success make him a strong candidate for this pivotal role.
Next steps involve the Florida Board of Governors confirming Limayem’s appointment. A crucial meeting is scheduled for November 6, 2023, where his confirmation will be discussed.
