Amazon Expands Prime Video with Free M6+ and RTVE Channels

Amazon’s Prime Video has announced significant content agreements that will enhance its offerings in France and Spain. The new deals provide Prime members in both countries access to various live channels at no additional cost, reflecting the company’s strategy to broaden its entertainment landscape across Europe.

New Streaming Options in France

Starting immediately, Prime members in France can enjoy M6 Group’s streaming service, M6+, which includes programming from the M6, W9, 6ter, and Gulli channels. This partnership grants access to over 30,000 hours of content, including exclusive M6+ programming. The deal encompasses a diverse array of entertainment, featuring popular shows such as the local version of The Traitors, Les Traîtres, reality series like C’est la famille and Top Chef, as well as major sporting events like the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the Super Bowl.

Elisabetta Carruba, director of Prime Video channels for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), expressed enthusiasm about the new addition, stating, “We are very pleased to welcome M6’s quality programming to Prime Video. The addition of M6 content to our service is an important step in our goal of becoming the number 1 entertainment destination for our customers.”

David Larramendy, chairman of the M6 Group executive board, noted that this agreement enhances the visibility of their brands and reaches a broader audience. He emphasized that it is a key step in their strategy to improve content accessibility and adapt to the evolving streaming landscape.

Expanded Access to RTVE Channels in Spain

In a parallel move, Prime Video has secured a partnership with the national public broadcaster RTVE in Spain. This agreement provides Prime members access to live broadcasts from channels including La 1, La 2, Canal 24H, Clan, and Teledeporte, without any additional fees.

According to Amazon, this arrangement allows Spanish viewers to discover and enjoy RTVE’s diverse programming through a dedicated section on the Live TV homepage of Prime Video. Programming highlights include sports coverage, news, and popular entertainment shows such as MasterChef and Hasta el fin del mundo, alongside cultural documentaries and children’s programming like Peppa Pig.

Carruba commented on the significance of the RTVE agreement, stating, “Following the successful integrations of add-on subscriptions across Europe, we are extremely pleased to expand our collaboration with RTVE. This agreement allows our Prime subscribers in Spain to access the complete offering of RTVE channels directly from Prime Video.”

The strategic partnerships in both France and Spain illustrate Amazon’s commitment to enhancing the Prime Video experience, making it a competitive player in the European streaming market. By offering free access to popular local content, Amazon aims to solidify its position as a premier entertainment destination for viewers across the continent.
