This approach reflects a fundamental shift from traditional models that relied on infrastructure hosting and fixed services, which no longer align with the rapid pace of modern conflict.

Brown specified that the environment will include three primary on-ramps: classic, private, and commercial hosting. Classic hosting has long been a core competency for DISA, particularly through its Hosting and Compute Center.

On the private side, DISA is actively working to enhance its offerings. Brown noted that while the agency has made strides with services like Stratus, there is a pressing need to elevate these services significantly to meet current demands. Furthermore, DISA is embracing commercial cloud solutions through the Joint Warfighting Cloud Capability contract, which Brown described as a “tremendous success” and an integral part of their future roadmap.
