Roman Griffin Davis Joins Voice Cast of Animated Feature Wonderland

Roman Griffin Davis, known for his role in Jojo Rabbit, has been cast as the lead voice in the upcoming animated feature Wonderland. Produced by Polish studio Lightcraft, the film also features acclaimed actor Mads Mikkelsen. Davis will portray Jake, a 12-year-old boy who, alongside his friend Jenny, explores the enigmatic Vagapulga creatures within their dreams.

The project, initially titled Dreamworld, is a 3D English-language animated feature. Co-director and producer Daniel Markowicz praised Davis for his strong grasp of the character’s emotional depth, stating, “From the outset, Roman showed a strong understanding of Jake and the emotional logic of the story. That made him a natural fit for the role.”

Davis gained international recognition for his performance as Jojo Betzler in Taika Waititi’s Jojo Rabbit, a role that earned him the Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Young Actor and a nomination for a Golden Globe. He has since appeared in several notable projects, including Francis Lawrence’s adaptation of Stephen King’s The Long Walk, the upcoming Greenland 2: Migration featuring Gerard Butler, and 500 Miles, which stars Bill Nighy and Maisie Williams. Additionally, he voiced Walter Dickens in Angel Studios’ indie hit The King of Kings.

Production Details and Market Release

Wonderland is co-directed by Markowicz and Maks Naporowski, with Markowicz also serving as the producer. Executive producers for the film include Paulina Nowak, Derakhshani, and Michael Roesch. The score will be composed by Mikołaj Stroiński, known for his work on the popular video game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Sales for Wonderland are being managed by Kinostar, which plans to showcase the film’s first sizzle reel to potential buyers at the European Film Market in Berlin this week. The animated feature is currently on track for a release in 2026, setting the stage for what promises to be an exciting addition to the animated film landscape.
