Trialbee Secures Major Investment to Enhance Clinical Trial Recruitment
Clinical trial recruitment specialist Trialbee has announced a significant milestone by securing a majority investment from Varsity Healthcare Partners. This strategic move aims to bolster the company’s ability to scale its technology and improve global delivery as biopharma companies grapple with increasingly complex challenges in trial enrollment.
The terms of the investment remain undisclosed, but it grants Varsity Healthcare Partners a controlling stake in Trialbee, while existing investors MTIP and Industrifonden will retain minority positions. This infusion of capital is set to accelerate the expansion of Trialbee’s Honey Platform, enhancing enterprise-level recruitment offerings and strengthening its international delivery capabilities across an omnichannel partner ecosystem.
Meeting the Growing Demand for Efficient Recruitment
As the pressure mounts on sponsors to meet trial timelines and manage enrollment performance, Trialbee operates at a critical intersection of patient identification, feasibility analysis, and site engagement. The company reported screening over 1.5 million patients in 2025, aided by the establishment of new sponsor-specific registries and strengthened data partnerships aimed at improving feasibility and enrollment projections.
Chief Executive Officer Matt Walz emphasized that this partnership will enable Trialbee to enhance its operational speed and deliver greater predictability for sponsors, contract research organizations, and trial sites globally. He stated, “Our goal is to connect patients and research sites more precisely, helping studies enroll on time and within budget.”
Over the past year, Trialbee has significantly expanded its global footprint, collaborating with more than 6,000 research sites across 50 countries and supporting trials in 66 languages. This expansion reflects the company’s commitment to addressing the persistent challenges faced by the clinical research community.
A Growing Focus on Customer Outcomes
The investment from Varsity Healthcare Partners aligns with its strategy of supporting established platforms capable of operational expansion. Partner Navid Gharavi noted the firm’s attraction to Trialbee’s focus on customer outcomes and its innovative use of data and analytics to tackle one of clinical research’s most enduring issues.
This deal comes at a time when biopharma sponsors are facing increased scrutiny regarding trial timelines and enrollment performance. Recruitment failures are a leading cause of trial delays and cost overruns in the industry, making Trialbee’s solutions more vital than ever.
Despite these changes, Trialbee has assured stakeholders that its leadership team and mission will remain unchanged as it embarks on this new growth phase. The company engaged financial advisory firm Stout to facilitate the transaction, further solidifying its positioning as a key infrastructure partner for sponsors looking to modernize their patient identification, engagement, and enrollment processes in clinical trials worldwide.
As Trialbee prepares for this next chapter, the focus on leveraging technology and data to improve trial outcomes will likely resonate throughout the biopharma landscape.
