Honolulu Faces Heavy Rain, Mariners and Flyers Urged to Prepare

A dissipating front west of Kauai is weakening, leading to a surge of trade wind showers primarily affecting windward and mauka areas.

Authorities confirm that southeasterly winds are expected to strengthen today, pushing rain towards the eastern and southeastern slopes of the islands. While trade winds will shift slightly from the east, no substantial moisture sources have been detected, indicating that residents should remain vigilant for pockets of intensified rainfall.
