The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has revealed plans for a new temple in Spanish Fork, Utah. The Spanish Fork Utah Temple will be built on an 8.7-acre site located at the intersection of 100 South and 2550 East. This announcement marks a significant addition to the church’s infrastructure in Utah, where there are currently 32 temples either in operation, under construction, or in various planning stages.

The temple was first introduced during the April 2025 General Conference, with the intention of serving the needs of nearly 2.2 million Latter-day Saints residing in the state. The late Church President Russell M. Nelson, shortly before unveiling this temple along with 14 others, emphasized the importance of regular worship in temples. He stated, “Regular worship in the house of the Lord increases our capacity for both virtue and charity. Thus, time in the temple increases our confidence before the Lord, and increased time in the temple will help us prepare for the second coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.”

Temple Details and Community Impact

While an exterior rendering of the temple has not yet been released, the plans indicate a multistory structure encompassing approximately 80,000 square feet. Additionally, an ancillary building will accompany the temple on the same site, further enhancing the community’s spiritual resources.

The construction of the Spanish Fork Utah Temple is expected to have a positive impact on the local area, providing a dedicated space for worship and community gatherings. The temple will not only serve as a spiritual hub for members of the church but also play a role in fostering community ties among residents.

As the church continues to expand its presence in Utah, the announcement of this new temple reflects its commitment to supporting the growing Latter-day Saint population. With the Spanish Fork Utah Temple, members will soon have a new place to engage in worship and community activities, enhancing their spiritual lives and the overall community dynamic.
