UWS Men’s Soccer Dominates; Women’s Team Dethroned in UMAC Action

UPDATE: The University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) men’s soccer team clinched its eighth consecutive Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) title in a stunning fashion, obliterating Martin Luther 8-0 in their season finale on Saturday at Superior Choice Credit Union Stadium. UWS finished the regular season third and will now face a tough road match against Bethany Lutheran in the conference tournament semifinals on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

In cross country news, the UWS men’s team continued its dominance, capturing its fifth consecutive UMAC championship on Saturday in Winthrop, Minnesota. The Yellowjackets nearly achieved a perfect score, sweeping the top four positions. Dylan Uitto led the charge with a personal best of 26:18.1 over the 8-kilometer course.

Meanwhile, UWS men’s hockey kicked off their season with an impressive 7-0 victory against Marian, showcasing their No. 13 ranking in the USCHO.com poll. The Yellowjackets’ strong performance was highlighted by a shorthanded goal from Justin Dauphinais and a stellar 17-save shutout by goalkeeper Jan Skorpik.
