SanDisk has unveiled its latest innovation, the Extreme Fit USB-C, claiming it to be the world’s smallest USB-C flash drive with a capacity of one terabyte. This new device boasts impressive read speeds of up to 400 megabytes per second, making it a notable addition to the market for portable storage solutions.

The Extreme Fit USB-C is designed specifically for USB-C ports, utilizing the USB 3.2 Gen 1 standard for connectivity. This means users must ensure that their host systems support this standard to achieve optimal performance. Measuring just 18.5 x 15.7 x 13.6 millimeters and weighing a mere three grams, the flash drive is compact enough that it does not protrude from the thickness of most modern laptops. Its unique vertical design allows it to remain connected without the risk of breaking off.

In addition to the one terabyte model, SanDisk also offers the Extreme Fit in capacities of 64 GB, 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB. The manufacturer has set a recommended retail price of $119.99 for the one terabyte variant in the United States. It is important to note that the basic model with 64 GB capacity is limited to a read speed of 300 MB/s.

SanDisk provides a five-year manufacturer’s warranty across all versions of the Extreme Fit USB-C, highlighting the company’s commitment to quality and reliability in its products. However, potential buyers should act quickly, as prices for memory products are expected to rise due to a current shortage of NAND flash memory.

With its blend of compact design and high performance, the SanDisk Extreme Fit USB-C aims to meet the needs of consumers seeking efficient and portable storage solutions. As demand for such devices continues to grow, SanDisk’s innovation may well set a new standard in the industry.
