The team will learn its playoff fate when the 40-team field is announced at 5 p.m. on Sunday on NCAA.com. They are anticipated to earn a first-round bye and possibly host a game in the round of 32.
CNU’s scoring began with a 2-yard touchdown run from Zavier Kennedy with 7:20 left in the second quarter, breaking a scoreless tie after a lengthy 88-yard drive. Following a defensive stand that forced a three-and-out, Barry connected with Josh Powell for an 11-yard touchdown, giving CNU a commanding 14-0 lead at halftime.
Barry continued to dominate in the second half, adding a 2-yard touchdown run on the opening drive, pushing the score to 21-0. The College of New Jersey’s Joe Visaggio finally broke through for the Lions with a 17-yard touchdown run with 10:44 left in the fourth quarter, concluding a substantial 10-play, 80-yard drive.
Barry capped the scoring with a 3-yard touchdown pass to White, sealing the game at 1:54 left in the contest. This remarkable season sets the stage for CNU as they aim for playoff glory.
