The 27th annual Window Painting Project took place at the Children’s Service Center in Wilkes-Barre on November 22, 2025. This beloved community event, held in memory of Edward Luksha and Barbara Luksha Roche, brought together volunteers to create festive window displays that celebrate the spirit of the holiday season.

Founded by Rosemary Luksha, the project has grown significantly since its inception over two decades ago. It aims to engage the community while honoring her late brother, Edward. The event not only showcases artistic talent but also fosters a sense of togetherness among participants.

Volunteers from various backgrounds participated, each contributing their creativity. Among them, Evelyn Migatulski put the finishing touches on a festive SpongeBob window painting, while Amelia Grudkowski and Anne Jenkins added their personal flair to their respective designs. The vibrant colors and imaginative themes transformed the center into a cheerful display of artistry.

As the day progressed, more volunteers joined in, showcasing a variety of holiday-themed designs. Colleen Weiss and Allison Stallard were among those who painted cheerful snowmen and other holiday characters, further enhancing the festive atmosphere.

The event serves not only as a creative outlet but also as a way to support the Children’s Service Center, which provides essential services to the community. By participating in the Window Painting Project, volunteers help raise awareness and support for the center’s mission.

As the holiday season approaches, the colorful window paintings at the Children’s Service Center stand as a testament to community spirit and creativity. The dedication of volunteers like those at the event continues to inspire and uplift the local community, ensuring that the memory of Edward Luksha and Barbara Luksha Roche lives on through this cherished tradition.
