Daniel Stern, known for his role as Marv in the classic film Home Alone, has announced he will not attend any anniversary events celebrating the movie’s 35th anniversary. The actor, now 68, cited his preference for a quieter life on his farm as the primary reason for his absence from the festivities.

In an interview with People magazine, Stern explained, “I don’t leave my farm. It’s no offense to the movie. I’m just … a phone call, Zoom call, I’m in. but… I’m a bit of a homebody.” His current lifestyle involves working as a sculptor while his wife manages their cattle and tends to citrus trees.

Stern expressed his appreciation for the film’s enduring popularity. He acknowledged that while he enjoys knowing the movie resonates with audiences, the attention he receives can sometimes feel overwhelming. “I love knowing that everybody loves it but, like, actual people come at me and say, ‘We love it.’ It’s a little overwhelming sometimes,” he shared.

While Stern remains at home, his co-star, Macaulay Culkin, has been actively participating in anniversary events across the United States. Culkin, who played the iconic character Kevin McAllister, has been engaging with fans and discussing the film’s legacy. Recently, he even hinted at a potential return to the franchise, expressing interest in reprising his role for a new Home Alone movie more than three decades after the original.

As fans continue to celebrate the impact of Home Alone, Daniel Stern’s choice to remain at home reflects a personal commitment to his current lifestyle, contrasting with the public enthusiasm surrounding the film’s anniversary.
