Former Paramount President expressed high hopes for the project, stating, “This script is one of the funniest and most original scripts we’ve ever read, and it’s certain to create some fireworks.” The film marks a continuation of Stone and Parker’s exploration of musical storytelling, a theme they previously captured in the acclaimed musical The Book of Mormon, which debuted on Broadway in 2011 and continues to tour worldwide.

As South Park prepares to release new episodes, the creators are also busy with their partnership with Paramount, which recently solidified a deal for additional seasons of the animated series. Despite the rigors of production, fans can expect a fresh season to arrive each year for the foreseeable future.
