In a significant development for wrestling fans, Total Nonstop Action (TNA) is on the verge of announcing a new television deal with AMC, set to take effect early next year. According to Jon Alba of Sports Illustrated, AMC is currently the leading candidate for TNA’s media rights, with promotional teasers indicating that TNA wrestling will debut on the network on January 15, 2026.

Transitioning to a Broader Audience

This move marks the end of TNA’s time on AXS TV, a platform with a significantly smaller reach. AMC’s main broadcast network is available in approximately 60 million homes across the United States, which is reportedly double the potential audience of AXS. This transition is viewed positively by those eager to see TNA expand its footprint in the wrestling industry.

Interestingly, the decision to partner with AMC diverges from expectations that TNA would secure a deal through one of the partners associated with WWE. Despite speculation that WWE would assist TNA in negotiating a new agreement, that collaboration has not materialized. Nonetheless, reports indicate that both promotions maintain a strong working relationship as they head into 2024.

Implications for TNA’s Future

TNA talent are anticipated to be informed about the upcoming deal on the afternoon of Tuesday, when the agreement between TNA and AMC is expected to be officially confirmed. AMC’s portfolio includes not only the flagship AMC channel but also BBC America, IFC, and various streaming services like AMC+ and Shudder.

As TNA prepares for this new chapter, questions arise regarding the future of its in-house subscription service, TNA+. At present, it remains unclear whether the weekly programming will continue on this platform after the transition to AMC takes place.

This announcement, if confirmed, could signify a pivotal moment for TNA, reflecting a strategic shift aimed at reaching a broader audience and enhancing its brand visibility in the competitive wrestling landscape.
