Community Remembers Gail K. Wold, 87, for Her Lifelong Contributions
Gail K. Wold, aged 87, of West St. Paul, passed away on December 14, 2023, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of faith, family, and community service. Known for her passion for music and her deep commitment to volunteering, Gail’s life touched many in her local community.
Born Gail Zinschlag, she dedicated over 70 years to church music, serving as a musician and director of the children’s choir for more than 50 years. Her contributions extended beyond the church, as she was a devoted volunteer at the Minnesota Zoo for 45 years. Her unwavering commitment to service and music not only enriched her life but also inspired countless others.
Gail is survived by her children, Janelle (Todd) Rau and Kevin (Jodi) Wold, along with her grandchildren, Aaron (Kim), Emily (fiancé Jake), Griffin, and Shiloh. She also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Daniel, a brother-in-law, Paul (Linda) Wold, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howie Wold, and her parents, Gil and Ellen.
Gail’s life was marked by her dedication to her family and her faith. A graduate of Park High School in 1956, she embraced her passion for music early on, which became a central part of her identity. Her commitment to her church community was evident through her long-standing involvement, making her a beloved figure among congregants.
To honor her memory, a visitation will be held on December 19, 2023, from 16:00 to 19:00 at King of Kings Lutheran Church, located at 1583 Radio Drive in Woodbury, Minnesota. A funeral service will take place the following day, December 20, at 11:00, with an additional hour for visitation beginning at 10:00. Following the service, a luncheon will be provided for attendees.
Gail’s family encourages memorial contributions in her honor, reflecting the values she cherished throughout her life. Her legacy of love, service, and music will continue to resonate within the community she so passionately served.
