Port Arthur Launches Annual Cleanup Event on November 1
The Port Arthur Beautification Commission is set to host its annual Keep Port Arthur Beautiful Fall Sweep on November 1, 2025. This community-wide cleanup invites residents to participate in enhancing the city’s environment and aesthetics. The event will kick off at 7:30 a.m. with registration at the Pavilion, located at 500 Procter Street.
Volunteers will be treated to a complimentary breakfast that includes coffee, juice, and Chick-fil-A breakfast sandwiches. They will also receive cleanup tools and T-shirts while supplies last before starting their work at various designated locations across the city.
This year’s cleanup efforts will focus on four key areas: the Pavilion, Rose Hill Park, Barbara Jacquet Park (Gilliam Circle), and Memorial Boulevard (between 26th and 39th Streets). Following the cleanup, participants will return to the Pavilion for lunch to celebrate their collective achievements.
Community Engagement and Recognition
Under the leadership of Clayton Clark, Port Arthur has recently earned the Gold Star Affiliate designation from Keep Texas Beautiful, marking the organization’s highest honor. This recognition underscores the city’s ongoing commitment to fostering pride, sustainability, and civic participation among its residents.
Pastor Wanda L. Bodden, a member of the Beautification Commission, emphasized that the Fall Sweep represents more than just a cleanup; it is a vital investment in the city’s future. “Our vision is to make Port Arthur a beacon of community pride,” Bodden stated. “We want our youth to see this as a place worth returning to and a city that attracts new businesses and families.”
Bodden highlighted the significance of collaboration among residents, city departments, and local organizations in maintaining Port Arthur’s growing reputation for cleanliness and civic engagement.
Volunteers are encouraged to RSVP by October 30 to ensure adequate food and supplies are available for all participants.
“Let’s bring back the glory,” Bodden urged. “Together, we can make Port Arthur a safe, thriving, and beautiful community for everyone.”
This event not only aims to beautify the city but also serves as a reminder of the power of community involvement in shaping a vibrant urban environment.
