Buffalo Bills Announce Major Shift to In-House Radio Broadcasts
URGENT UPDATE: The Buffalo Bills have confirmed a groundbreaking change in their media strategy, announcing they will transition to producing and distributing all radio broadcasts in-house starting in 2026. This shift marks the end of the team’s 14-year partnership with WGR-AM 550 and its Rochester affiliate, 950-AM The Fan.
Starting in 2026, fans will no longer tune in via traditional radio. Instead, all broadcasts will be available exclusively through streaming on BuffaloBills.com and the official Bills app. This change reflects a significant evolution in how sports media is consumed, moving away from conventional radio formats to digital platforms.
Additionally, the popular show “One Bills Live,” which airs weekdays from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, will also transition to in-house production beginning on February 9. The show will continue to be simulcast on MSG Western New York, ensuring fans maintain access to their favorite content. Co-hosts Chris Brown and Steve Tasker will remain in their roles, delivering insights and analysis to the Bills’ devoted fanbase.
In a statement regarding this major overhaul, Bills Chief Operating Officer Pete Guelli emphasized the necessity of adapting to changing media landscapes: “The delivery of media content has changed dramatically over the years. We believe the model of in-house production, distribution, and sales will better position the organization to provide access to our fans as well as allow us to further engage with the local business community.”
This strategic move not only caters to the evolving preferences of fans but also enhances the Bills’ control over their content and engagement strategies. As the sports world increasingly shifts towards digital consumption, this decision positions the Bills to capitalize on new opportunities for interaction and revenue generation.
With the end of the partnership with WGR, fans are encouraged to prepare for this transition by downloading the Bills app and visiting BuffaloBills.com to stay updated on upcoming broadcasts and events.
As this situation develops, fans and analysts alike are eager to see how this bold move will impact the Bills’ connection with their audience. Future enhancements and programming changes are anticipated, making this a pivotal moment in the franchise’s media history.
Stay tuned for more updates as the Buffalo Bills embark on this new chapter in their broadcasting journey.
