URGENT UPDATE: The holiday spirit is set to ignite in Chicago as the Wintrust Magnificent Mile Lights Festival prepares to dazzle locals and tourists alike on November 22, 2023. Just announced, this beloved annual event will illuminate North Michigan Avenue, marking the official start of the holiday season.
The festival promises to be bigger and brighter than ever, featuring special appearances by Mickey and Minnie Mouse from Walt Disney World Resort. According to Jim Vozzella, spokesperson for The Magnificent Mile Association, attendees can expect a lively atmosphere filled with exciting performances and stunning new floats.
The festivities kick off with Lights Festival Lane from 11 AM to 4 PM at Pioneer Court, 401 N. Michigan Ave.. This interactive area will offer family-friendly activities, food, and entertainment leading up to the grand parade.
Starting at 5:30 PM, the parade will wind its way down North Michigan Avenue from Oak Street to Wacker Drive, running until 7:30 PM. Expect a breathtaking display of lights, music, and holiday cheer as thousands gather to celebrate.
The event culminates with a spectacular fireworks display over the Chicago River, providing a magical end to an unforgettable evening.
