URGENT UPDATE: Chris Langlee, a cherished member of the Duluth community, has passed away at the age of 64. He left this world peacefully on October 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 23, 1961, Chris dedicated two decades of his life to the Air National Guard, retiring as a Master Sergeant in 2005. His commitment to service, both in the military and later as the Credit and Collections Administrator for the City of Duluth, has left a lasting impact on the community.
Chris was not only a respected professional but also a devoted family man. He met his soulmate, Patrice Johnson, in 2010, and they married on June 21, 2019. Together, they created a blended family filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Chris is survived by Patrice, his children—Becky Orlowski, Chase Mallett, Jory Johnson, and Holly Johnson—and his granddaughter, Kyla Johnson.
A visitation is scheduled for October 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, located at 4100 Grand Ave, Duluth, MN. A celebration of Chris’s life will follow at 2:00 PM with a reception to honor his legacy.
Chris was also a sports enthusiast, known as a diehard fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Wild. He enjoyed playing baseball and softball in his youth, and his legacy continues through many memorable moments on the field. His passion for golf was well-known, with summers spent on the greens at Nemadji Golf Course.
The family expresses deep gratitude to Essentia’s critical care team for their exceptional support during this challenging time. Chris’s humor, love for music, and his remarkable ability to connect with others will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
As the community mourns this significant loss, friends and family are encouraged to share their memories and celebrate the life of a man who brought joy to so many.
