Community Mourns Loss of Patricia Meehan Williams, 90

Patricia Meehan Williams, aged 90, passed away on January 8, 2026, leaving a significant impact on her community in Chatham, New York. Known for her vibrant spirit and dedication to family, Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Charles Williams, as well as her fiancé, Terence Toomey, and several of her children, including Charles Ray Williams, Bonnie Sperl, David Williams, Nancy Klimek, and Gary Williams.

Throughout her life, Patricia was deeply involved in community activities, particularly with 4H, where she shared her passion for horses with young people. Her commitment to education culminated in a long career with the Chatham Central School District, where she made lasting connections.

Patricia was a lifelong parishioner at St. James Catholic Church in Chatham, reflecting her strong faith and community ties. She is survived by her sister, Bridget Arnold, and her son, Shawn Williams. The legacy of her family continues through her grandchildren: Theresa Davis Gerber, Frank Davis, Dakota and Audrey Williams, Scott Rivenburg, Ken, Joe, and Christopher Sperl, as well as Kevin, Adam, and Jesse Williams. Patricia also leaves behind great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The community will gather to honor Patricia’s life during a funeral mass at St. James Catholic Church on January 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, inurnment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Kinderhook, New York.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial donations to be made to St. James Catholic Church in Chatham, NY, to continue Patricia’s legacy of giving back to the community she cherished.
