Mary A. Yurasits, 94, Passes Away; Services Scheduled for January 17

BREAKING: Mary A. Yurasits, aged 94, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, at the Fellowship Community in Whitehall, Pennsylvania. This profound loss is felt deeply by her family and community, marking the end of a remarkable life dedicated to service and faith.

Born on November 6, 1931, in Kreidersville, Mary was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Stutzenberger. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Yurasits, in 2024. Mary was a cherished member of her community, having graduated from Northampton High School and served as a secretary at Novagratz Tax Office for many years.

Mary’s commitment to her faith was evident as a devoted member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church in Northampton. Her legacy continues through her daughters, Lorene Kahler and husband Randy, Rochelle Reice and husband Richard, Sharon Urbanczuk and husband Roman, and her son Gary and wife Sherri. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, alongside her sister, Rose Laury, and several nieces and nephews. A son, John, two grandchildren, and a nephew preceded her in death.

Services for Mary Yurasits are scheduled for January 17, 2026, with calling hours from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the church, located at 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. A Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment in the parish cemetery.
