UPDATE: Khruangbin has just released a re-imagined version of their iconic debut album, The Universe Smiles Upon You ii, to celebrate its ten-year anniversary, marking a significant moment for fans and music lovers alike. This exciting announcement comes on November 6, 2025, exactly ten years after the original album dropped.

The band, known for their unique sound, decided to revisit this landmark project in a way that reflects their growth over the past decade. Laura Lee Ochoa, the band’s bassist, shared insights with Rolling Stone, stating, “The thought was like, ‘We’ll just do it all over again. And it will be us 10 years later… But actually, the kids 10 years later would think about the songs as they are today.’”

This new project is not a straightforward replication of the original. Notably, the album opener “Mr. White” has been replaced with “Bin Bin,” a track that was previously a bonus on the Japanese edition of the original album. The new version showcases how the band has evolved, offering fresh interpretations while still honoring their roots.

The complete tracklist for The Universe Smiles Upon You ii includes:

1. “Little Joe And Mary ii”
2. “Balls And Pins ii”
3. “White Gloves ii”
4. “The Man Who Took My Sunglasses ii”
5. “People Everywhere ii”
6. “Bin Bin ii”
7. “August Twelve ii”
8. “Dern Kala ii”
9. “Two Fish And An Elephant ii”
10. “Zionsville ii”
