UPDATE: The lineup for this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is set, featuring a star-studded roster that includes Ciara, Foreigner, Lil Jon, Kool & the Gang, Busta Rhymes, and Teyana Taylor. Scheduled for November 27, 2024, the parade promises to be an unforgettable kickoff to the holiday season, beginning at 8:30 a.m. in all time zones.

This year’s parade will showcase 32 balloons, three balloonicles, 27 floats, 33 clown groups, and 11 marching bands—all culminating in the arrival of Santa Claus. The excitement is palpable as the familiar trio of Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, and Al Roker return to host the event live on NBC and Peacock.

In a significant cultural moment, the parade will also include appearances from the cast of the hit Netflix movie “KPop Demon Hunters.” The film’s soundtrack, featuring Audrey Nuna, EJAE, and Rei Ami, recently hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and is now certified platinum. Expect to see characters from the movie, including the adorable balloonicle based on Derpy Tiger and Sussie.

This year marks a special occasion as four new character balloons debut, including Buzz Lightyear, Pac-Man, and a 32-foot-tall balloon of a carriage featuring characters from “Shrek.” Additionally, the parade will honor its legacy with balloons from previous years, such as the Rainbow Trout and Freida the Dachshund.

The celebration will also feature a variety of Broadway performances with cast members from “Buena Vista Social Club,” “Just in Time,” and “Ragtime,” alongside appearances from the Radio City Rockettes. Athletes like three-time U.S. national champion figure skater Ilia Malinin and U.S. Paralympian Jack Wallace will bring added star power to the event.

Last year, the parade attracted more than 31 million viewers on NBC and Peacock, marking a 10% increase from the previous year and setting a record for the biggest audience in parade history. This year, organizers are anticipating even greater engagement from fans, eager to join in the festivities that have become a cherished holiday tradition.

As anticipation builds, viewers can look forward to the announcement of additional star appearances, adding to an already impressive lineup. With new floats from Holland America Line, Lego, and Stranger Things, the 2024 parade promises to be a spectacular event that families will not want to miss.

Mark your calendars for this iconic celebration, and get ready to share in the joy of the season!
