Urgent: Officer Injured in Halloween Brawl at NJ Domino’s
UPDATE: A chaotic Halloween brawl at a Domino’s in Glassboro, NJ, has left a police officer injured, prompting an urgent search for two suspects. The incident, which occurred around 2:45 a.m. on Halloween, saw an officer struck in the back of the head by a chair thrown during the fight, according to local authorities.
Surveillance footage released by the Glassboro Police Department shows a crowded dining area filled with patrons, many still in Halloween costumes. As officers attempted to make an arrest, two males escalated the situation by throwing a chair, resulting in the officer’s injury. Police are actively working to identify these individuals.
Local residents and students from nearby Rowan University expressed concern over the incident. Senior student Ruth Wozniak remarked, “It’s college. It’s normal at this point,” indicating that such disturbances have become a common occurrence in the area, especially during busy weekends.
Freshman Destiny Edwards recounted her experience, stating, “They had cop cars all the way down here. Like you couldn’t get down here. Just very crowded.” The police presence intensified following the brawl, raising questions about safety in the popular student area.
Officials at Fultoo Biryani House, located across the street, voiced their worries about the potential impact on business. Employee Jenis Prajabati stated, “If we are planning to open midnight or past midnight, then we have to talk about it because crime and safety of customers is very concerning.”
Students are hopeful that the suspects will be apprehended soon and that increased police patrols will deter future incidents. Sophomore Hajar McCray urged, “What they can do is just find the person that did it to make sure stuff like that doesn’t happen anymore.”
As of now, WPVI has reached out to Domino’s corporate offices for comment but has not received any response. The condition of the injured officer remains undisclosed, and police are urging anyone with information about the brawl or the individuals involved to come forward.
This developing story highlights ongoing safety concerns in college towns and the need for increased vigilance during busy nightlife hours. Stay tuned for further updates as this situation unfolds.
