Zotac’s New Mini PC Challenges Mac Studio with Powerful Specs
UPDATE: Zotac has just unveiled its latest mini PC, the Zbox Magnus EN275060TC, a compact powerhouse designed to rival the Apple Mac Studio. This innovative device, which fits in your jacket pocket, boasts an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor and an Nvidia RTX 5060 GPU, making it a formidable contender in the high-performance computing market.
Measuring just 210 x 203 x 62.2 mm and weighing around 1.4 kilograms, the Zbox Magnus packs an impressive punch. With a total volume of only 2.65 liters, it claims to deliver more power than many mid-tower desktops, making it an exciting option for gamers and creatives alike.
This barebones mini PC allows users to customize their setups, supporting up to 96GB of DDR5 RAM and dual M.2 slots for SSDs. Users can install their own high-speed memory and storage, providing flexibility for various applications ranging from 4K gaming to complex AI tasks. The Zbox Magnus is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX processor featuring 20 cores, a 5.2GHz turbo boost, and 30MB cache, paired with a GPU that includes 16GB of VRAM.
Despite its powerful specifications, questions remain about thermal management and sustained performance in such a compact design. The device relies on a hefty 330W external power supply, which could impact its portability appeal.
For connectivity, the Zbox Magnus shines with two Thunderbolt 4 ports, five USB Type-A ports, dual Ethernet connections, and four display outputs including HDMI and DisplayPort. It also supports the latest Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 technologies, ensuring fast and reliable wireless connections.
Zotac has priced the Zbox Magnus at approximately €1,600 (about $1,555), positioning it directly against larger desktop systems that offer better cooling and potentially higher sustained performance. As its launch creates buzz across tech communities, users are eager to see how this mini PC stacks up against established giants like Apple.
Stay tuned for more updates as reviews start rolling in. The Zbox Magnus EN275060TC could redefine expectations for compact computing power.
