Gahanna Launches New Community Grants to Tackle Food Insecurity
The City of Gahanna is launching a second round of its 2025 Community Grant Program to address increasing food insecurity among residents. Mayor Laurie Jadwin highlighted the urgent need for food assistance as local food pantries experience a surge in demand. This situation is expected to continue, prompting the city’s proactive response to support vulnerable families.
“This expanded round of community grants allows us to respond quickly and directly to one of the most pressing needs in our community,” Mayor Jadwin stated in an announcement on the City of Gahanna’s official website. The program is designed to provide financial assistance exclusively to non-profit organizations actively engaged in combating hunger in the area.
Organizations interested in applying for funding must submit their applications by 4 p.m. on November 14, 2023. The city plans to reallocate unspent funds from the initial grant round, thereby enhancing local initiatives that are critical in addressing the ongoing food crisis.
