Blockchain for Good Alliance Showcases Transformative Tech in Copenhagen
The Blockchain for Good Alliance (BGA) has recognized innovative blockchain initiatives at the Blockchain Impact Forum 2025 in Copenhagen, Denmark. This event, held on November 4-5, 2025, brought together over 300 policymakers, technologists, and leaders from more than 30 countries to discuss the potential of blockchain technology in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Forum Highlights and Key Themes
The Forum commenced with an exclusive leadership day titled “Chains of Change,” focusing on governance, digital public infrastructure, and collaborative partnerships. The second day featured the BGAwards, which included the SDG Blockchain Accelerator Showcase organized by the UNDP’s Alternative Finance Lab. This showcase highlighted blockchain projects that aim to tackle pressing issues like financial inclusion and sustainability.
The BGAwards marked a significant milestone as the world’s first major event dedicated solely to showcasing blockchain’s potential for positive global impact. The agenda included interactive panels and keynote speeches covering three primary themes: Blockchain for Digital Public Goods, Finance for Inclusion and Impact, and Sustainability and Climate Accountability.
Prominent speakers included Helen Liu, Co-CEO of Bybit and Founder of the Blockchain for Good Alliance; Robert Pasicko, Team Leader at UNDP AltFinLab; and David Ripley, CEO of Kraken. Their discussions underscored blockchain’s capability to enhance transparency and bridge the gap between technological innovation and global development needs.
Celebrating Innovations with the BGAwards
The Forum concluded with the BGAwards 2025, celebrating blockchain projects that significantly contribute to the SDGs. Each SDG Blockchain Accelerator winner, including Genius Tags, Plastiks, and ZenGate, received USD 2,000 for their impactful work.
The BGA Incubation 2025 segment recognized projects across different stages. In the Ideation Stage, Kelox took first place with a prize of USD 10,000, followed by Give Hope, Nuva, and Social Activation, each awarded USD 3,000. In the Growth Stage, Token Tails secured first place with USD 30,000, while Rumsan and EsusFarm earned USD 20,000 and USD 10,000, respectively.
Special recognition awards were also given, including the Stewardship Awards to Adam Flinter and Mickey Amami, and the Commendation Award to Dr. Lisa Cameron. This recognition reflects the Alliance’s commitment to fostering blockchain solutions that drive progress in sustainability, inclusion, and digital trust.
Throughout the two-day event, attendees emphasized the importance of collaboration between public and private sectors to ensure blockchain technology aligns with human development goals. Liu remarked, “What we witnessed in Copenhagen is a movement taking shape — where blockchain offers a shared infrastructure for trust and accountability.”
The Blockchain for Good Alliance continues to expand its ecosystem, focusing on responsible blockchain initiatives that promise a more inclusive and sustainable future. The Forum served as a testament to the growing recognition of blockchain’s role in addressing global challenges and enhancing institutional trust worldwide.
