Baton Rouge Lounge Unveils Holiday Pop-Up Bar with Festive Cocktails
A holiday pop-up bar has launched at The Queen Baton Rouge, featuring seasonal cocktails, complimentary sugar cookies, and a festive atmosphere. This is the first time the local casino has introduced such an initiative, running from November 8 to December 25. The pop-up operates on Thursdays from 16:00 to 20:00 and Saturdays from 16:00 until closing.
Located above 1717 Kitchen + Cocktails, which serves rustic and Southern comfort dishes, the pop-up bar offers stunning views of the Mississippi River. Brad Johnson, the food and beverage director, expressed enthusiasm for showcasing the lounge. “A lot of the bars in the area do something big for Christmas, so we wanted to highlight The Loft and its beauty,” he said, donning festive Christmas tree glasses.
The drink menu features a variety of innovative cocktails, including a bourbon milk punch made with egg-free eggnog and an espresso martini flight inspired by the Three Wise Men, which includes flavors of caramel, pumpkin spice, and hazelnut. Each drink is served on a cocktail board along with cookies and cookie butter. “The milk punch with nutmeg on top just brings you into the holiday spirit,” noted Lisa Tompkins, a representative for The Queen Baton Rouge.
In addition to beverages, the food menu will include seasonal dishes. Johnson mentioned a special Thanksgiving menu featuring traditional offerings such as turkey, ham, dressing, macaroni and cheese, green beans, and sweet potato casserole. Guests will find the stairs to The Loft conveniently located just past the hostess stand upon entering the restaurant.
The inviting lounge atmosphere is designed to help patrons embrace the holiday spirit. As the night winds down, complimentary sugar cookies made in-house will be offered during last call. Additionally, customers are encouraged to support the Toys for Tots drive by bringing new, unwrapped toys. Donations can be delivered to The Players Club on the gaming floor until November 17.
For those looking to host holiday gatherings, the pop-up bar accommodates private groups of up to 40 people. “It’s already decorated,” Johnson stated. “Just come here for your food and drinks, and we’ll get you set up for your Christmas party.”
The Queen Baton Rouge’s holiday pop-up bar is located at 1717 River Park Blvd., Baton Rouge, and is open to the public on Thursdays and Saturdays throughout the holiday season.
