Community Mourns Sandra J. Miner, 76, Following Cancer Battle
Sandra J. Miner, aged 76, of Boscawen, New Hampshire, passed away on December 16, 2025, after a determined fight against breast cancer. Her loss is deeply felt by family, friends, and the community, who remember her for her warmth and contributions.
Born on April 5, 1949, in Concord, New Hampshire, Sandra was the daughter of Elwyn B. and Annie F. (French) Chamberlin from Penacook. She received her education in local schools, including the Charles Street School, Summer Street School, and Penacook High School. After graduating, she embarked on a diverse career that included roles at the New Hampshire Aeronautics Commission and various local establishments, notably serving for 22 years at Alans of Boscawen Restaurant. Most recently, she worked as a snack bar cook for the Merrimack Valley School District, where she was cherished by students and staff alike.
In addition to her professional life, Sandra was actively involved in her community. She was a member of the Torrent Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Boscawen Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, where she served as President for several years. Her commitment to service showcased her dedication to the people around her.
Sandra’s interests extended beyond her work. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and engaging in various puzzles and crafts. These hobbies reflected her creative spirit and desire for continuous learning.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Leonard A. Miner Sr., along with their son, Leonard Miner Jr. and his wife Lea of Laconia, and their daughter, Rebecca Reed and her husband Ed of Salisbury. Sandra also leaves behind two grandchildren, Allyssa Miner of Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Jacob Miner of Haverhill, Massachusetts, as well as numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Her family has expressed how much she will be missed, especially after her steadfast support throughout their lives.
Sandra was predeceased by her mother, Annie Chamberlin, her daughter, Patience Hibbard, and her brother, Stanley Chamberlin of Loudon, New Hampshire.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, December 20, from 11:00 to 13:00 at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium located at 172 King Street in Boscawen. A graveside service is planned for the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery on Corn Hill Road in Boscawen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Susan G.
