Join the John Wayne Grit Series 5K to Fight Cancer in Texas
The John Wayne Grit Series is set to take place in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards on November 8, 2025. This special 5K trail run and walk aims to raise funds for the John Wayne Cancer Foundation (JWCF) and its mission to combat cancer through innovative research, education, and patient support. Participants can expect a unique experience, combining fitness with the spirit of Western heritage.
Taking place in the heart of Texas, the event will allow participants to run or walk through a district renowned for its cowboy culture and historic cattle drives. This scenic backdrop provides an opportunity to honor the indomitable spirit of John Wayne while contributing to a worthy cause aimed at defeating cancer.
Registration for the 5K is currently open and is expected to fill quickly. Individuals can register with a standard entry fee or potentially gain free entry by committing to raise funds for JWCF. Each participant will receive a John Wayne Grit Series shirt and a finisher mug, in addition to the chance to earn exclusive rewards from partners such as Nathan, Hooey, YETI, Path Projects, and John Wayne Stock & Supply.

Participants can also take advantage of the vibrant atmosphere at the Fort Worth Stockyards, which features daily cattle drives at 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.. The area boasts historic saloons, shops, and museums, offering live country music and Western entertainment. After completing the run or walk, participants can indulge in local cuisine and celebrate their accomplishments.
