Oneida County Election Results Reveal Strong Republican Support
Unofficial election results from Oneida County for 2025 have shown significant support for Republican candidates across various districts. The results highlight a strong trend towards the Republican Party, particularly in key local legislator and council races.
In District 1 of the Oneida County Legislature, Republican candidate Keith Schiebel dominated the election with an impressive 98.28% of the votes, totaling 1,028. This overwhelming victory underscores a solid foundation of support within the community. In District 7, Republican candidate Stewart Rood secured 61.78% of the vote, amounting to 1,175 votes, while Richard J. Duesler Jr. from the Democratic/Working Families party garnered 38.01% with 723 votes.
The results continued to reflect Republican strength in District 12, where Kenneth White achieved victory with 55.80% of the votes, totaling 721. In a closely contested race, Stephen Hampe from the Democratic/Working Families party received 44.04%, or 569 votes.
Local Council Races Favor Republicans
The trend extended to the City of Rome, where Republican candidates dominated several council races. In District 1, John M. Sparace secured 97.14% of the votes, while in District 2, John B. Mortise achieved 96.52%. The District 3 race was more competitive, with Sheri LaGreco-Bryant from the Democratic/Working Families party obtaining 46.78% against Linda J. Fazio, who won with 53.22%.
In District 4, Ramona L. Smith from the Democratic/Working Families party won with 51.12% of the vote, while in District 5, Michael D. Brown received 40.52%, losing to John Reilly, who garnered 52.03%. The results reflect a mix of competitive races and clear victories, indicating varied voter preferences across districts.
Further analysis of the results shows that the Republican Party captured significant percentages in various positions, including the office of Vernon Town Assessor, where Duane Munger received an overwhelming 99.31% of the votes, amounting to 869. In Verona, Scott Musacchio for Town Supervisor and Amy Kotwica for Town Clerk/Tax Collector also secured victories with 98.06% and 98.73%, respectively.
As Oneida County moves forward, these results will likely shape the political landscape in the region, with the Republican Party showing robust support across various levels of local government. The official certification of these results is expected to take place in the coming weeks, providing a clearer picture of the elected officials who will serve the community in the future.
