A California man has been sentenced to a prison term of 75 to 150 years for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in Pennsylvania. The sentence was announced by Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday following the conviction of Don A. Robison, 44, of Milpitas. A jury in Blair County found him guilty on multiple charges, including three counts of unlawful contact with a minor and two counts of indecent assault.

Robison’s actions were particularly alarming due to his status as a registered sex offender in California. According to prosecutors, he posed online as a 13-year-old to befriend the victim. Through electronic communications, he gained her trust, ultimately leading to his travel to Altoona, Pennsylvania. There, he convinced the girl to disable her home’s security systems, allowing him to enter the residence and commit the assault.

Legal Consequences and Classification as a Predator

During the sentencing, the judge classified Robison as a sexually violent predator. This designation is reserved for offenders deemed to pose a continuing threat to the public. Attorney General Sunday emphasized the severity of Robison’s crimes, describing him as a repeat offender who exploited a child’s trust. He stated that the lengthy sentence ensures Robison will no longer be able to harm another child.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Kimberly Moraski and Deputy Attorney General Jacob Jividen, who presented compelling evidence against Robison. The conviction and subsequent sentence reflect the legal system’s commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals from similar predatory behavior.

Robison’s case highlights the ongoing challenges of online safety and the dangers posed by individuals who exploit technology to target minors. Authorities continue to stress the importance of vigilance in monitoring children’s online interactions to prevent such incidents in the future.

As the community processes the gravity of this situation, the sentence serves as a reminder of the legal repercussions of such heinous acts. The commitment to justice in this case demonstrates the efforts of law enforcement and legal professionals to safeguard children from exploitation.
